The test was simple: is this book much better than its profile? Every title here is one we would recommend ahead of a far more famous book on the same subject, and most of them have a fraction of the reviews.
There is a structural reason good business books stay obscure. The genre rewards a memorable single idea and an author with a platform, and a book that is careful, specific and slightly awkward to summarise sells badly regardless of quality.
A few of these are out of print or awkward to get hold of. We left them in. Availability is not a measure of usefulness, and a second-hand copy of the right book beats a new copy of the wrong one.
